Cathay Dragon is to launch a new service between Hong Kong and Nanning on January 8 next year. Four weekly flights will be operated on an Airbus A320 with two class configurations.

The capital of Guangxi, Nanning is an important economic hub.  Ashish Kapur, Cathay Pacific’s South African country manager, says, “We are very pleased to add Nanning to our growing mainland China network. The city is becoming an increasingly important business and tourism destination and we are excited to provide our South African customers with a wider choice of travel options and convenience.”

Flights will operate the Hong Kong (HKG) – Nanning (NNG) route as follows:

HKG – NNG Flight KA714
Mon, Fri, Sat 15h40 17h40
Wed 16h10 18h10

NNG-HKG Flight KA713
Mon 19h40 21h10
Wed, Sat 20h30 22h05
Fri 20h30 22h00

Nanning is the capital of Guangxi and is known as the ‘Green City’ because of its abundant lush tropical greenery. The city is China’s gateway to the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (ASEAN) and hosts the annual China-ASEAN Expo.

Passengers from southern China will have more connection options to Cathay Dragon’s regional network as well as Cathay Pacific’s international network through Hong Kong when the new service launches next year.
