Travelodge has opened its first hotel in Dover, the 108-room Travelodge Dover overlooking Dover Castle, and plans to target the UK’s top 10 busiest cruise ports as future locations

Due to the growing cruise boom, Travelodge aims to open hotels close to the ports in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Harwich, Hull, Liverpool, Newcastle, Poole, Portsmouth, Southampton and Tilbury.

Tony O’Brien, Travelodge property director, said: “The cruise boom is still under way and predicted to grow from strength to strength. Therefore we are getting on board now and looking for ten new hotel sites at the UK’s growing ports.”
